May have been within Chatham Barracks, built by Debbeig. Proposals date from 1778.

Ordnance Hospital (AKA Garrison Hospital & Artillery Hospital)

Upper Chatham Barracks/Military (Maxwell) Road

In the late 19th century the hospital became barracks, although the block facing Maxwell Road remained as the Medical Centre until the 1960s.

St Mary’s Invalid Hospital

In 1881 it became an extension to R.E. Barracks

Brompton Hospital

Brompton Barracks

Used for wounded from the Crimean War. Queen Victoria visited four times. Probably in the northern range of the barracks.
